John RUTHERFORD Jr. was born in 1730 in Essex Co., Virginia. He died on 13 November 1800 at the age of 70 in Lincoln Co., Kentucky. On 11 Dec 1781 he entered 400 acres of land on a branch of Hanging Fork in Lincoln Co., KY, adjoining Hugh Logan. He took the oath of Allegiance in Montgomery Co., VA, 13 Sep 1777, John Rutherford served in the KY Militia from 23 Mar through 23 Apr 1781 in Lt. Benjamin Pettit's Company under the command of Col.
