Referenced as being in Bavaria, but it is located in the modern Baden-Württemberg, across the Rhein from Appenhofen. According to Wikipedia, this area was likely to belong to Bavaria at the times in questions (1600s-1700s), but the boundaries have shifted considerably since that time.
